Ditzy Tsukamoto loves the weirdly quiet Karasuma. But Tsukamoto is worshipped by the raging delinquent Harima. Everything she does to snare Karasuma, Harima unknowingly yet simultaneously does likewise to snare Tsukamoto. In this ribald love triangle of painfully unspoken desires, high school life takes on an alternative function in the parodic teen-love series School Rumble. Not as wildly anarchic as many examples in this sub-genre, School Rumble is closer to the normal format of teen love school sagas. This one tries hard to spike itself with wacky asides, comedic non-sequiturs and shaggy-dog scenarios, but it would probably appeal more to those seeking fun teen anime than those seeking savage parodies.
